In which everything jumbles together

Oftentimes it’s a good thing to want to know more about a specific subject.

But when you’re pressed for time, it’s not really a good thing.

The JLPT is just 3 months away and I don’t know much about sentence patterns yet, not to mention that I still have kanji and vocabulary to worry about. Thing is, I’m not contented with just memorizing sentence patterns. I end up wanting to know more about the linguistic roots of the words and patterns I’m studying, and right now I don’t think I can afford to know more because I might not pass the test if I try to put more knowledge beyond what’s required to at least pass. :|

It now makes me wonder if I should have taken linguistics in college.
